Urban Planning Workshop For Year 11 Geographers

Urban Plan visited the school last week to deliver an urban planning workshop for 30 of our Year 11 Geography students.

The students formed five different development companies and competed with each other to win the bid to develop a key site. They were given the opportunity to plan the scale of the development and the mix of land-uses, while also having to meet important sustainability and financial targets.

They were able to draw upon the advice of two industry professionals, Mark Pender and Christopher Langdon, who had given up their time to share their experience with the teams.

Following an impressive round of pitches the winning team was announced as Reclaimed Construction Limited. Well done to Abdishakur, Patrick, Reuben, Dilhan, Kiyan and Warith who were commended for their excellent teamwork, great communication and attention to detail. In addition to this all Teams were commended by the providers and professionals for their excellent teamwork and professional delivery. 

A big thank-you to Richard and Carla from Urban Plan, and to Mark Pender and Christopher Langdon for coming in to deliver an excellent and engaging workshop.
