What's the Time? It's 10 to Harris Dulwich Boys!
Harris Boys' Year 10 booked their place in the Harris Cup semi-finals with a rampant win against Harris Orpington.
The intensity of the HBAED press, spearheaded by Oliver and Rayane, proved too much for the Orpington back four as they were suffocated throughout the entire match.
Rayane finished beautifully with his first time shot into the top corner with the opening attempt of the game. Orpington threatened to hit back immediately and rattled the cross bar with what was to be their best chance of the match.
Minutes later Rayane stole the ball off the left back and switched the ball to Aaron, who beat his right back and drilled a strike into the bottom corner to make it 2-0. The third goal came from another high press and ended with Oliver sneaking a shot into the near corner after a gorgeous one-two between himself and Aaron on the edge of the penalty area. Casper completed the first half with a curling left-footed shot that cracked off the bar and post before nestling into the top corner. 4-0 at half time.
The message at half time was simple – keep the intensity high. Rayane was clearly listening as straight from the kick-off he forced another turnover inside the Orpington penalty area and smashed into the bottom left corner for 5-0. Shortly after, Stanley claimed well from an Orpington free-kick and launched a counter-attack which ended with Oliver being bundled over in the opposite penalty area – Louis confidently despatched the penalty for 6-0.
Moments later Casper was cleaned out inside the area for our second penalty, which he converted neatly to make it 7-0. Hector then got in on the act, picking up the ball on halfway and carrying it forward before launching a blistering drive into the top corner for 8-0! Orpington were crumbling and HBAED were ruthless - a poor goal kick fell to Aaron who took a touch and floated a delightful chip over the goalkeeper for 9-0. Oliver capped a bountiful afternoon for HBAED as he scrambled our TENTH goal across the line.
Another brilliant performance on a sunny afternoon at Kings College Sports Ground.
