Our Chess Club Hosts Friendly Tournament with Harris Invictus
Our Chess Club organised a friendly tournament with six keen chess players from Harris Invictus on 14th December. The event was held in the school library, where 15 players competed in a friendly series of chess matches.
These games were a great opportunity for the students to showcase their skills, learn from each other, and foster a spirit of sportsmanship and camaraderie. The Chess Club advisor, Mr Pugh, said that he was very proud of the students for their enthusiasm and dedication to the game. He also thanked Ms Smith, our librarian, for her support and cooperation in hosting the event.
At the end of an intense hour of playing, the players congratulated each other and exchanged friendly handshakes after their games. They also enjoyed some snacks and drinks provided by HBAED. This meet-up was a great success, and both schools agreed that we will arrange another fixture in the New Year, as well as creating a Harris Federation Chess Competition.
Watch out for a Harris Federation Chess Competition!
