Year 7 in Thrilling Cup Contest with Harris Greenwich
In a thrilling football showdown between HBAED and Harris Greenwich in the first round of the Harris Cup, spectators were treated to a spectacle of skill, determination, and relentless action.
The match ended with a jaw-dropping 5-4 victory for HBAED, capped off by an unforgettable winning goal from the prolific Ambrose.
From the first whistle, both teams showcased their prowess, creating an electrifying atmosphere. The intensity reached its peak in the 15th minute when HBAED drew first blood with a clinical finish from Ambrose, setting the tone for a goal-laden encounter. HBAED then created chance after chance with Gabriel bossing the midfield, leading to Manel and Tylan on his debut finding the net to make it 3-0 at half-time.
The second half began with Harris Greenwich putting up a serious fight. A lack of concentration led to Harris Greenwich clawing back, scoring four goals to put HBAED behind 4-3 with only ten minutes to go.
Amari, the captain, the leader, the legend, was not allowing his team to go down. He rallied the troops, pushing every member of the team to their best, which proved to be exactly what was needed. With five minutes to go, Manel stepped up to score his second goal of the game to equalise. The fire was lit, and the consistent onslaught from HBAED led to Ambrose, shifting the ball from his right foot to his left, and fired home in the bottom corner with the last kick of the game.
Full Time, 5-4 win to HBAED, and the character of each and every one of the HBAED team was on show, leading to the Year 7s marching on.
