Southwark Schools Chess Tournament

Students from HBAED took part recently in the Southwark Schools Chess Tournament, organised by Sacred Heart Catholic School, Camberwell.

How it started

We want to congratulate the talented chess champions Luca, Keanu, Victor, Yan, Alfie, Sayed and Baseer for their outstanding performance in the recent tournament.

The team displayed a solid effort throughout the competition, competing against four other teams and coming in a very close second, missing the top spot by just one point.

At HBAED, chess is a popular sport, and we have a thriving Chess Club with members who are enthusiastic about competing. The club meets every Thursday in the library from 3.05 to 4.30 p.m. and is open to all staff members and students.

Once again, well done to our chess champions. We look forward to seeing more success from our Chess Club in the future!
