Peckham Rye Biology Adventure for Year 11

Peckham Rye biology 1

Seven Year 11 students ventured to Peckham Rye as part of their Additional Biology course.

The boys were investigating how biodiverse Peckham Rye is using a sampling technique involving quadrats. This piece of equipment (pictured right) allows the pupils to isolate sections of the park and calculate the percentage coverage of different types of plants.

The boys found it extremely useful to see how this technique is used by actually doing it themselves.
