Posi Bags Four Goals as Year 7 March into Cup Quarter Final
Our Year 7 football team looked to continue their fabulous first season together as they travelled to Harris Beckenham.
The team were coming off the back of two defeats in the London Cup and Harris Cup respectively and were looking for a big response. Debuts were in place for Khalid and Ellis to freshen the team up.
The game started with clear dominance from HBAED. Yahya stepped into the midfield with Khalid to establish early control of the ball, which eventually led to multiple chances. Posi was looking sharp up top, and it wasn’t long before he fired us into a 2-0 lead, scoring both superbly well.
The defensive rock of William, Khiyari and Josh maintained a firm stance as we looked to keep a clean sheet, with goalkeeper Colman not having to make a save in the early exchanges. Before half time, Harrison took us into a 3-0 lead with a smart finish, a brilliant half from HBAED.
Into the second half and Ricardo continued to torment their defence with his endless pressing. Half time subs Ellis and Bilal came on to make an impact in the midfield and defence. HBAED then took a 4-0 lead with another great finish from Harrison, adding to his impressive goal tally this season.
However, the headlines belonged to our forward, Posi. He managed to grab two more goals to increase our lead to 6-0. Posi with a huge performance and four goals to go with it, incredible.
Beckenham rallied well to score two goals late on, to finish the game 6-2. An impressive display from HBAED and a well needed win to make the Harris Cup Quarter final. Harris Crystal Palace to come in the next round, bring it on!
