Handball - HBAED 16 CBSC 10
The Year 9 handball team played their first competitive game of the season against Carshalton Boys Sports College on Monday evening. The first half was a very tight game with both teams matching each other on the court in attack and defence. The score was tied 6-6 at half time.
The Harris Boys' team upped the ante in the second half and, with the added aggression of Jerry, Crispin and Rio, stormed into the lead. David and Jamal linked well on the left hand side, creating a flurry of clear goal scoring opportunities for the team. Meanwhile, on the right, Yayha, Herman and Adrian combined well to provide a balanced and unrelenting attack on the Carshalton goal.
The Harris zone defence was on lock down second half! The Carshalton boys could not break through and went a period of about ten minutes without being able to get a shot on target let alone trouble Dylan in goal.
Final score: HBAED 16 – 10 CBSC.
Shout out to the maths department for coming to support our boys.
Man of the Match: David was outstanding in attack and defence. His creativity set up many goal scoring opportunities and his aggression in the zone defence thwarted several opposition attacks.
Stepping up: Jamal and Herman both made their competitive handball debuts against students from the year above them and they did not look out of place.
