University Laboratory for Year 12 Biology Students
Year 12 biology students had the chance to complete practical work in university-style laboratories when they visited the Wohl Reach Out Lab at Imperial College London recently.
The Wohl Reach Out Lab is a state-of-the-art educational facility on Imperial's South Kensington campus, dedicated to hands-on activities aimed at engaging school children in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM).
Degree-level
Our students took part in activities to separate and identify proteins using gel electrophoresis, thin layer chromatography and colorimetry using the very best degree-level equipment and technology.
All of the pupils really impressed the staff at Imperial with their subject knowledge as well as their exceptional lab skills, and the pupils themselves were impressed by the equipment they got to use. In fact they enjoyed the day so much that a few of them were inspired to pursue a degree in the sciences on the back of the experience.
