Sixty excited Year 7 and 8 boys from HBAED took part in the UK Maths Challenge this week.
Over 250,000 pupils from across the UK sat the Junior Maths Challenge, with roughly the top 6% receiving gold certificates, the next 13% silver and the next 21% bronze.
The top performing Year 8 student was James, who was awarded a Gold certificate and Best in Year, closely followed by Anson, Year 7, who received a Silver certificate and also Best in Year. In total our students were awarded 1 Gold, 6 Silver and 11 Bronze certificates. A stunning achievement!
Year 7 students celebrate their success at the UK Maths Challenge.
The UK Maths Challenge, organised by the United Kingdon Mathematics Trust, involves answering 25 multiple-choice questions and is sat in school under exam conditions. They are often intriguing questions which are designed to stimulate an interest in Maths.
Well done to all involved.
