Severe Weather - Check Website for School Opening Arrangements
As you may be aware, the Met Office has issued yellow warnings for severe weather in our area for the week ahead. Whilst we will make every effort to keep the academy open, we have to take a number of health and safety considerations into account before making that decision. These include:
- The number of staff that can make it into school and the resulting staff-to-pupil supervision ratio
- Whether public transport is running
- The condition of the academy site, roads and paths in surrounding areas
- The forecast for the end of the day, so that students/staff can get home safely.
We aim to make a decision by 6:45am on any severe weather event. Once a decision is made we will place a notice on our website immediately and will send a text message at the earliest opportunity. We will also update our Twitter account. Please check the website and Twitter for further announcements.
If you have changed your mobile number and not yet told us, please contact the academy to update these details as soon as possible.
