World Book Day, 7th March 2019 - What's On
Welcome to World Book Day. The world’s annual celebration of reading and books! The day always falls on the first Thursday in March, but we will be celebrating on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday this week. Here's what's happening this year.
Short stories and World Book Day vouchers
All students will share a short story in form time and form tutors will deliver World Book Day vouchers. World Studies and Enterprise hubs have their stories and vouchers on Wednesday 6 March; Active Science and Creative Voice on Thursday 7 March.
World Book Day vouchers can be exchanged in bookshops and some supermarkets for this year’s free books – come and see them in the library!
Play Book Bingo
Collect the grid of staff names from the library and find out the favourite book of everyone on the grid! Books will either be carried by staff or displayed in the windows of their classrooms.
Complete the sheet with your own favourite book. It’s not a race! Competition closes at the end of Friday. One lucky winner will receive a £10 amazon voucher.
Book in a bag competition in the library
Thursday (first lunch) and Friday (both lunch breaks). Come to the library and guess which books are in the bags. They are all old library books that have been cut into a thousand pieces! Can you see enough clues to tell you which books they are? One lucky winner will receive a £10 Amazon voucher.
Enjoy World Book Day!
