Special Rewards for Effort and Attainment
At end of last term we handed out certificates to pupils that had shown particular success in a subject. The criteria for the certificates was:
- Outstanding effort
- Outstanding progress
- Outstanding attainment
The theme of the assemblies was that of the three, effort is the most important. There is no use being talented if you don’t work hard.
We also handed out bronze and silver lapel badges to boys that consistently display the values central to being a HBAED pupil. To be awarded these badges is difficult – you need 150 Harris Points for a bronze badge and 250 for a silver.
The fact that so many of our boys now proudly wear them is a testament to the excellent character of the boys at our academy. Very much looking forward to handing out some gold badges next term – who will be the first boy to achieve 500 Harris Points?
