Sixth Form Discuss Causes of Extremism and Poor Mental Health
Sixth Formers had a presentation on extremism, adverse childhood experiences and mental health recently, run by our Safer Schools officer PC Marcus.
The event specifically discussed recent terror-related attacks in the capital and the impact that childhood can have on later life. PC Marcus also looked at the support services available to young people and how people can seek help, if they need it.
"I thought the assembly was very emotional, down to earth and truthful," said Alfie, Year 13. "It represents the volatile nature of society and it also demonstrates how we must prepare if we were ever to become involved or be inflicted upon by any of those situations."
Ms Luis said: “Assemblies like this are vital opportunities for us to raise important issues with our students and I was very impressed at how maturely they responded to PC Marcus’ presentation."
