Music Industry Executive Mervyn Lyn Meets Year 10

Mervynlyn 150x150@2xMusic industry executive Mervyn Lyn spoke to all our Year 10 boys today to deliver an inspiring careers talk on the importance of resilience and confidence in helping to realise your ambitions.   

Mervyn began life in the business of music as a DJ in 1978 before working as a record executive for labels including Virgin Records, Motown International and Sony.

During his career, Mervyn has worked with an impressive list of artists including Soul II Soul, Stevie Wonder, Lionel Richie, Whitney, Britney, Alicia Keys and Justin Timberlake. He now runs an agency working with an impressive network of clients eager to work with music and sport.

During an online session (pictured below), our boys were able to ask Mervyn questions about his time in school, the skills he most values in the workplace, the times he as failed and how he recovered, and what advice he would give to a young person looking for a successful career?
