Victoria is a Changemaker at Queens Park Rangers
Year 12 student Victoria was invited to attend an incredible event at the Queens Park Rangers football stadium earlier this month
Victoria is part of the NCS Changemakers project, which sees students getting together to design and deliver social action projects for their community.
The event gave Victoria the opportunity to meet her fellow Changemakers across different boroughs, get involved in some fun team-building activities and games, and enjoy a tour around the stadium. She also got to learn new skills and plan her next social action project.
We asked Victoria to write about her experiences.
"On the day, we first had an icebreaker to get to know each other better which I think was great since I was able to meet new people.
After that we had a talk about how to write a personal statement, which was useful since I was able to know how to write one.
After lunch, we had a tour around the stadium (pictured) which was great because we were able to learn more about different things that are done there. Finally, we went back to the room where we first met and then discussed what things we would like to see NCS do for their future programmes and the community.
Overall, I believe it was a great experience since it helped me meet new people and make new friends, as well as learning how to write a personal statement. I found this very useful as I would like to go to university and having that lesson was very insightful.
In general, I would definitely recommend people to go to the NCS summer or autumn programme because it is a fun way to meet people and you receive emails about the opportunities that are available.”
