Year 10 Football - Alleyns 2 – 3 HBAED
After a hard fought victory over COLA, we travelled to Alleyns for a friendly. Having never played this school before, we turned up to one of the nicest pitches you will ever play on, which made for an excellent game of football.
It was a really tough first half, neither team creating much, but the midfield three of Joshua, Idris and Gody were working so hard to keep us in the game.
Our most promising counters were coming down the left from Emmanuel, however despite Nana getting a good chance on goal we did not score. As half time was about to strike Mohammed was beaten from 20 yards as the Alleyn's midfielder crashed the ball into the top corner. 1-0 at down at half time.
The second half saw some character from our boys. Abdulahi was solid at the back and then managed to nick a foot on the ball from a corner to slot home. 1 – 1.
From there the game went on to be of good quality with both teams attacking well. Alleyns managed to go 2 – 1 up, before some individual brilliance from Gody got us back to 2 – 2.
With five minutes left and the game well balanced, Alleyns cleared from a corner, Kian ran onto the ball from 40 yards and crashed one in for us. We went on to win the game 3 – 2. A great start to the season for the year 10s and a special thanks to Mr Cooper who came along to support and really enjoyed the hospitality.
