Principal’s Breakfast For Our KS3 40/40 Students
In our second 40/40 Principal’s Breakfast of the Autumn term, we celebrated the achievements of many of our KS3 students.
All students who made the 40/40 lists in their summer assessments – that is, they were in the top 40 students for both 'Attitude to Learning' and 'Attainment' in their summer 2021 assessments exams – were invited to a special breakfast with the Vice-Principal Mr Brett and Assistant Principal Mr Pugh.
How does it work?
- Attitude to Learning (ATL) is very important as it is a measure of a student’s positivity about their education. For their school reports, teachers award a score for students’ ATL and from this the top 40 were rewarded.
- Attainment is the average attainment or grade a student received in assessments in their subjects exams in term 3 of the last academic year.
- Students who were in the top 40 for both lists were invited to the Principal’s Breakfast, and all students who were on one list or both received a congratulatory letter home, 20 Harris Points and a certificate that celebrates their success.
It was fantastic to see such committed students being rewarded for their achievements. We are particularly proud of these current Year 8 students as they had challenges to face in their first year of secondary school and still made their education a great success. We are sure their families will be proud too. Well done!
