ADHD Awareness Events at Harris Boys’ Academy
We are planning a series of ADHD awareness events this term, to raise awareness of ADHD amongst both students and staff.
On November 18th or 19th, all pupils will have a session on ADHD Awareness during form time. The session is being planned by a small group of boys with an ADHD diagnosis together with the SENCO.
On Friday 19th November, our weekly staff training session will be on ADHD and will be delivered by our Speech and Language Therapist Egypt Payne. Parents and Carers of pupils with an ADHD diagnosis will also be invited to attend the session.
Our librarian Mr Delaney has purchased some new ADHD-focused books which will be available to read and borrow.
Thank you to the 30 parents and carers who attended our SEND forum on October 13th, which had a particular focus on ADHD. This was a really dynamic and interesting event with discussions around our SEND provision.
