Festival Of Apprenticeships For Year 12
Our entire Year 12 cohort attended The Festival of Apprenticeship at KIA Oval recently - an event that advocates, promotes and celebrates Apprenticeships.
This is no ordinary Careers Fair; this celebratory event not only promotes the value apprenticeships can deliver for young people, but also gives them the knowledge and expertise about how to apply for the right one for them.
Students were able to visit the main stage, which featured past and present
apprentices and apprenticeship experts sharing their apprenticeships journeys and answering questions.
They could also roam the networking zone, an area where visitors, exhibitors and apprentices can meet and network – ask questions and sign up to future apprenticeship alerts and events.
They learned that Apprenticeships are no longer only for blue collar trades (such as plumbing and plastering) but there are a wide range of fields that apprenticeships now cover (including accountancy, law and digital marketing).
Students also had the opportunity to meet a wide variety of employers from across different sectors that offer apprenticeships, such as Google, BT, The Metropolitan Police, JP Morgan and many more.
Students left the event not only with a bag full of freebies but also with invaluable knowledge that they can achieve a degree whilst working in their chosen field, gaining experience and the ability to earn, whilst they work.
