Citizenship
Our curriculum intent for Citizenship is to ensure students become Active Citizens in our society. We want them to learn how they can influence change on a local, national and global scale.
Curriculum plans for all year groups can be downloaded from the bottom of the page.
Students will develop their own opinions through reasoned and calculated argument, as well as becoming champions of freedom, democracy, the rule of law and equality for all.
The Citizenship curriculum could change our community. The values and strategies they learn in these lessons could be the trigger for bringing Citizenship to life in the streets they live on. We want them to be better people, to make their peers better people and to go on and make our country a better place. Think big, because knowing how to be an Active Citizen is fundamental to giving them the Master Key to their future success.
Citizenship is taught discreetly to Year 9 and through a segmented curriculum to the rest of the Academy. Curriculum details can be found below.
