Harris Boys’ Academy East Dulwich Sixth Form Success
Sixth Formers at Harris Boys’ Academy East Dulwich are celebrating an excellent set of Year 13 qualifications with students now set to accept places at top universities, apprenticeships and employment.
Our Sixth Form is a joined with Harris Girls’ Academy East Dulwich, with many students studying courses on both sites. This allows them to access a full range of A Level and Vocational pathways.
Nine out of ten Cambridge Technical qualifications, known as CTECs (and the equivalent of BTECs but with a different exam board), in ICT and Sport were awarded the top Distinction or Distinction* grades.
A Level Economics students performed incredibly well, with 25% achieving A grades and 65% A-B grades. Many of these are off to University to study Economics related subjects.
Dawood, who achieved a Distinction* and Distinction in ICT and Distinction in Business, has won a coveted place on Credit Suisse’s Degree Apprenticeship scheme. This will enable him to get a head start in a prestigious career whilst also gaining a full degree in the process.
Congratulations are due to the rest of the year group too, including:
- Anton, who gained A Levels in Maths, Physics and Economics.
- James and Andrew, both of whom gained Distinction Stars in ICT and Business and are off to A Degree Level Apprenticeship and Nottingham Trent University respectively.
- Sam, who gained A Levels in Economics and Physics and a Distinction in his Sport and is going to study Accounting and Finance at Nottingham Trent University.
Chris Brett, Head of Harris Boys’ Academy East Dulwich, said: “Despite all the challenges thrown at these students, they have shown great resilience to achieve some amazing results. Now on course to take up a whole range of competitive university places and apprenticeship schemes, they have good reason to be optimistic and excited about their futures.”
