Year 9 Watch Spanish Movies At British Film Institute

Some of our Year 9 Spanish learners enjoyed a trip to the British Film Institute at the Southbank in London earlier this month, where they enjoyed a variety of activities, including watching three short films which introduced them to new vocabulary and different cultures. 

After lunch, our students enjoyed the afternoon's activities, which included watching the film Atlético San Pancho (2021), about a caretaker in a small Mexican town who turns a ragtag group of kids into a top football team.

A classic film that all of our students loved, embracing the fact that the dialogue was in Spanish with English subtitles. Atlético San Pancho touched on topical issues such as Hispanics in football, poverty and education in Mexico and much more.  

All the students agreed that it was a very rewarding and enjoyable trip that will benefit their future Spanish studies.
