A Night of Musical Magic at Harris Boys’ Academy
The Harris Boys’ Assembly Hall was filled with applause and cheers on Tuesday night, as students, teachers, and parents enjoyed a spectacular music concert featuring the talents of the Year 10 Music GCSE students.
The concert was the culmination of months of hard work and practice by the students and their music teachers, who prepared a diverse and delightful programme of songs and pieces from different genres and eras.
The concert was opened with a lively performance by Adam, who played the piano in his performance of ‘Perfect Pair’. He was followed by student after student demonstrating their amazing music talent and hard work.
We were privileged to hear the vocals and guitar talents of Son. Then our pianists dazzled with their skills: a big well done to Dominik, Jamie, David, Leon, Ammar and Masud.
The drumming was sensational from Caleb, Preston and Joseph (with some broken drumsticks along the way). Edward demonstrated excellent timing and control in his guitar piece, and David’s performance of ‘City of Stars’ on the flute was sensitive and emotional. The concert had a fantastic ending with an emotional duet pairing of Malek and Augustine performing a song by Adele.
The concert ended with well-deserved applause from the audience, who praised the students and teachers for their amazing performances. A big shout out to David N-G who gained his Bronze Performance badge for his first ever public performance. You wouldn't have thought that considering how relaxed he looked.
As always, we give huge thanks to Ms Bee for guiding them on their musical journey with us, and also to Mr Mosley, Mr Reid and Mr Cleasby, our music tutors, for their guidance and support. Overall, the concert was a memorable night for everyone involved, and a testament to the power of music to bring people together. Well done to students. We cannot wait to see your next performances!
On that note(!) our next performance is fast approaching! The Summer Showcase will be taking place on Wednesday 12th at 6:30pm. Tickets still available via ParentPay. It will definately be one not to miss!
