Year 10 Football Team Win 8-4 in Inner London Cup
The Year 10s had their first game in the Inner London Cup, from which they came away victorious, winning 8-4.
The Year 10 boys were fired up and ready to start their Year 10 football journey on Wednesday 9th October against a respectable Haberdashers side.
Given last year's disappointing results, the Year 10s had something to prove this year, and after an inspiring team talk from Mr Weir (Pep), there was only ever going to be one winner.
The game started with excellent football being played, with the back four, midfield and attack all linking to create endless chances. It didn't take long before Ayo decided he was going to body three defenders before sticking the ball in the top left corner to give the Orange Army the lead.
The goals continued to flood within the first half from both teams, most noticeably from Jacob, when he placed the ball perfectly in the top corner of the goal from 20 yards out. First half-finished 2-2.
The second half begun with both teams battling, causing the game to be scrappier than the first half. Both teams were scoring but it was the orange army who were leading the way with further goals from Ayo and Ibrahim Traore, but with a late equaliser, the full-time score was 4-4.
Extra time begun, and Harris were fired up to ensure they did not let the game slip, with goals coming in both halves from Ibrahim and Anis, led to the final score being 8-4 to HBAED, and the orange army go marching on!
