Information Session on Mental Health and Neurodivergence, Thursday 28th November 4pm
We are pleased to be holding a talk about mental health and neurodivergence. At Harris Boys’ Academy well-being and mental health are our priority. It is known that young people with neurodivergence (including ADHD, autism, or learning disabilities) are sadly at an increased risk of developing problems with anxiety and/or low mood.
Dr Caroline Stokes, a clinical psychologist at King’s College London, will join us to talk about the link between neurodivergence and mental health in young people, including early warning signs of anxiety and low mood, and share some tips and advice for parents and care-givers - and for boys themselves – on how to manage mental health.
Dr Stokes’ team is working on developing more effective treatment approaches for anxiety and low mood for young people with neurodivergence. She also will be talking a little bit about this project including some opportunities for your boys to get involved with this work, should they be interested.
All pupils on the SEND Register, and their parents/ carers have been invited to this session.
