April is World Autism Acceptance Month
We are pleased to be marking World Autism Acceptance Month at Harris Boy's Academy East Dulwich, during April 2025.
Next week, for example, all form times will cover topics regarding neurodiversity, with a particular focus on autism. Then after Easter, our wonderful librarian will be organising neurodiverse themed books in the library, and has already held several completely silent reading sessions tailored to those who really need low stimulus.
And on Thursday 8th May at 4pm we are welcoming a young male adult, Brandon, who has autism. He will be talking about his experiences of autism and how he is successfully in employment.
Whilst Brandon's focus is autism, any pupils with any special educational need and their parents/carers are welcome to attend this event. It will last approximately 30-40 minutes and will be held in the dance studio here.
Invitations will be sent to all parents/ carers of SEND pupils. Brandon would also love to have some questions from pupils and parents/ carers to think about ahead of the event which can be sent via the link in the invitation, or to k.price@harrisdulwichboys.org.uk.
We look forward to marking World Autism Acceptance Month with you.
