Football - Year 11 - HBAED 2 STAC 1
The Year 11 football team are through to the semi final of the South London Cup after an impressive 2-1 win against St. Thomas the Apostle.
The team were under pressure throughout the first half with STAC controlling the possession and not really allowing us out of our own half. However, with Sam, Bilal, Lamar and Peter we had a solid defensive shape and STAC could not create a clear cut chance.
Clive and Marcus were introduced at half time which gave the side a better balance on the right. Clive provided an instant impact showing great vision to pick out Reece who flicked the ball over the last defender for Amjad to lob the keeper from outside the area. One nil Harris.
This spark gave the team the confidence they needed and they went on to dominate the second half. Josh rattled the cross bar from 30 yards before calmly stepping up to convert a penalty kick. Two nil Harris. The penalty was won by Kiran who cut in from the left wing before being brought down on his way to goal.
STAC scored a consolation goal in injury time which was cruel on Jesse as he had made an outstanding double save moments before. Final score 2-1 Harris.
