Harris Federation Sports Day - Thursday 14 July

Crystal Palace

The Harris Federation Sports Day will be held at Crystal Palace National Sports Stadium, Ledrington Road, London SE19 2BB on Thursday 14 July 2016. All students must attend either as a competitor or spectator.  

Your son/ward will need to register at the Harris Boys’ Academy, East Dulwich in full Academy uniform. Students are expected to arrive at normal time of 08:10. Registration will take place at 08:15 sharp. Students and staff will leave the Academy by coach and travel to the Crystal Palace National Sports Stadium to support the competitors who have been selected to represent the Academy. Your son/ward will be notified of his bus number and bus leader by his Form Tutor.

The event is due to finish at 14:15 and we are expected to arrive back at the Academy at 15:00-15.45 depending on traffic. Please note that your son/ward must return to the Academy by coach at the end of the day and will not be able to go straight home from the stadium. Your son/ward will need to bring a packed lunch, as there will not be an opportunity to purchase refreshments at the stadium. Those students receiving Free School Meals will be supplied with a packed lunch.

As a spectator, your son/ward must wear full Academy uniform. As this event will take place outside, your son/ward may also wish to bring a waterproof jacket in case of rain. In case of warm weather conditions it is essential that all students bring sun lotion and plenty of drinking water for the day. 

Your son’s/ward’s behaviour during the day will be a reflection on the Academy and may influence decisions taken about their participation in future trips and activities. I would therefore ask you to remind him to be polite and well behaved at all times. The Academy rules for mobile phones and valuables also apply during trips.

I hope that the day will be an excellent opportunity to cheer on our athletes and see just how well we can do against all the other Academies within the Federation.
