Football - HBAED 10 ARK All Saints 2
The Year 10 boys went flying into the quarter finals of the South London cup with an incredible 10 – 2 win against ARK All Saints last night at Kings College.
ARK were a physical team but we let them know what we were about in the opening five minutes when we carved open their defence and John slotted home with a neat finish to put us 1 – 0 up.
From there the game could have gone either way, but four fantastic saves from George gave us the opportunity to go in 4-0 up at half time. A notable goal came from Aziz, who cut in from the left and chipped a cross that Enry looped over their keeper.
We absolutely dominated the second half of the game. Gibril slotted in the CDM role and bossed the game allowing Aaron to run riot in midfield and Amine out on the right was stretching their team.
Enry and Mukhtar were giving their defence nightmares, not giving them a second to rest on the ball and in the last minute Mukhtar got what he deserved. When John crossed for him, Mukhtar leapt like a salmon at the back post to put the ball past their keeper.
A newly formed defence was controlled with class by Dexter as Connor dealt with any physical presence. A special mention must go out to John who scored four incredible goals last night and was a cut above the rest.
Thanks goes to Mr Miller for ‘trying’ to referee the game.
Man of the Match: John put fear into their defence yesterday and was by far the best player on the pitch.
Stepping up: George made five or six incredible saves during the game to keep us in it.
