HBAED in 3rd Place out of 55 Similar Schools
Harris Boys’ Academy East Dulwich has been placed 3rd out of 55 similar schools based on its Attainment 8 outcomes, the Department for Education (DfE) announced today. This is the 4th year in row that we have been recognised for our progress and attainment nationally.
The DfE puts schools across England and Wales into groups of 55 whose students have a similar attainment at the end of primary education. They then compare how students in those schools perform at the end of Key Stage 4. This enables schools to get a really good idea of how they are performing against schools with a similar intake.
Harris Boys' Academy East Dulwich has been placed either second or third in its group of 55 every year since 2014. There is no better performing similar school in this group within 75 miles.
Top 6% for progress
We have also been ranked in the top 6% nationally for Progress 8 this year and all previous years. Our Progress 8 score of +0.73 (compared to -0.24 for boys schools nationally) means that our students achieved, on average, over 1 grade higher per subject than boys nationally.
"Well done to everyone who makes HBAED a great place to learn and achieve," said Executive Principal Chris Everitt. "We certainly do shape the future together for our students and are determined to achieve higher. Everything in life is possible and nothing is impossible when you have belief, determination and resilience."
