UK Maths Challenge Success
Ms Abdulaahi recently entered some of our finest mathematicians into a nationwide maths challenge, organised by the United Kingdom Mathematics Trust, a registered charity which advances the education of children and young people in mathematics.
They were in competition with 270,000 other pupils from across the country, with years 9 and 10 entering the Intermediate Challenge and years 7 and 8 taking part in the Junior Challenge.
Boys had to answer lively and intriguing multiple choice questions designed to stimulate interest in maths and mathematical problem solving.
Thanks to the hard work of the boys and excellent teaching we achieved some fantastic results with 41 of our pupils receiving certificates - 33 Bronze, 7 Silver and 1 Gold.
Special mention must be made of William in Year 7 who achieved top marks with a Gold in his junior maths challenge and will now be taking part in a follow-on round against the top 1% of mathematicians his age in the country.
Well done Team Maths on representing the academy so successfully! Full list of certificate winners below.
