Sixth Form Visit to Goldsmiths, University of London
Sourush H, Year 12, reports on our recent Sixth Form university taster day at Goldsmiths, University of London.
Students explored different course options, were given personal statement writing advice and attended lectures in Design, Law, English Literature and Business Management & Marketing.
On Tuesday 2nd April, I and my fellow sixth form students visited Goldsmiths, University of London. This fascinating trip gave us a very clear insight into university life. The visit proved to be very helpful and showed us the possible routes to take when applying to university. We were given important tips on maximising the likelihood of our university applications being a success, such as important advice on constructing our personal statements.
We were also given a tour of the site which boasts a four storey library, multiple gym facilities and a cinema. On our arrival we received a talk on student finance, personal statements and entry requirements for courses offered at the university.
During the second part of the visit, I attended a law lecture regarding human rights. This 90 minute lecture was extremely useful and interactive, which was rather eye-opening and helped me understand that even though stereotypically lectures are depicted as boring, the law lecture I attended was engaging and brought all the students together. This visit truly brought an insight into what university life can offer.
