Prestigious Maths Summer School for Hari, Year 10
Hari, Year 10 (pictured right), is the first student from Harris Boys' Academy East Dulwich to be selected to attend a five-day International Maths Summer School run by by the United Kingdom Mathematics Trust (UKMT).
For more than 20 years, UKMT has been inviting promising young mathematicians from across the UK to participate in National Mathematics Summer Schools at Woodhouse Grove School in Yorkshire.
To qualify for an invitation, students have to have scored very highly in the Intermediate Mathematical Challenge.
Forty eight enthusiastic young mathematicians will attend for a five-night residential programme. The summer schools aim to promote a love of problem-solving and help build a community of young mathematicians.
"We're extremely proud of Hari for being chosen to attend and am sure he will benefit hugely from the opportunity," said Maths teacher Ms Abdulaahi, pictured with Hari.
