NASA Astronaut meets Sixth Formers
A small group of A-level Science students had the opportunity of a lifetime to meet British astrophysicist and former NASA astronaut Michael Foale PhD CBE, who is a veteran of six space shuttle missions and extended stays on both Mir and the international space station, and the first Briton to perform a spacewalk.
Kings College London University in collaboration with Mission Discovery invite students to work directly with astronauts, rocket scientist and NASA leaders for a week-long learning program from the mission discovery team, with the aim to design an experiment to be launched into space.
Successful experiments will be performed aboard the international space station.
Mission discovery is proven to enhance student’s scientific and technological skillset, while developing their innovation, team work and leadership abilities.
