National Apprenticeship Week - inspiring stories
As part of National Apprenticeship Week, students at HBAED are learning about apprenticeships by reading and listening to inspiring stories of students who have chosen to go down the apprenticeship route.
Click HERE to read the story of Hassan, 22, who is doing a digital degree apprenticeship with EY. He explains how he combines study and work: "I look at some of our clients' biggest problems and work with a team to use technology to solve them. I study while I work, spending about 20% of my time studying and 80% learning on-the-job. At the end of my apprenticeship, I will have a BSc degree in Digital Innovation."

HBAED alumni inspire
This week, Year 10 were treated to an inspiring assembly from two 2021 alumni, Fernando Gonzalez Ojeda and Adrian Porteros Rubio, who work for KPMG and Amazon respectively.
They shared their educational stories and reasons for choosing to progress on to higher level apprenticeships. They focused on the benefits of apprenticeships compared to university, namely the ability to earn and learn without any student debt.
The Year 10s left the assembly excited to explore the full range of options available to them once they finish school. Students and parents should check out Unifrog for the latest information on apprenticeships available locally.
Please contact Mr Allison j.allison@harrisdulwichboys.org.uk or Mr Zaman K.Zaman@harrisdulwichboys.org.uk if you have any questions on apprenticeships.
