"Sustainable Lifestyles" - Year 8 Term 3B Homework Project

TreeFor the remainder of term 3b, in Year 8 we wanted to set a homework project for our students to get involved in and inspired by. This is in addition to the English and Maths homework tasks and online tasks of Bedrock, Hegarty Maths and Vocab Express.

We have taken the theme of Sustainable Lifestyles which links in with our school and federation wide focus or reducing our waste, recycling and having a positive impact on our community.

In Year 8 we have set three project-based tasks designed for students to be active, creative, involve their community (friends, family or wider community) and learn through exploring recycling and sustainability.

  • DT: Week by week guide to creating a mechanical car
  • Science: Promote and learn more about recycling through producing informative posters or pieces of writing
  • PE: MiMove logging of physical exercise- using exercise to travel around, not relying on transport and lessening our carbon footprint
