Twenty one students from Year 10 spent a day at St Anne's College, Oxford University, yesterday.
The boys, who were the top attainers in Year 10, took part in a session on life at university, during which they met current students and toured the St Anne's College site including the library, and student accommodation, and had lunch in the dining hall.
Later on the boys visited Oxford Museum of Natural History where they enjoyed handling fossils, skeletons and cockroaches.
"A huge thank you to everyone at St Anne's College, University of Oxford, for hosting a group of our Year 10 students and making it such a memorable experience for them," said Mr Zaman.
What students said...
Year 10 were really inspired by their time with St Anne's College and look forward to finding out more about life at an Oxbridge college.
"When we visited Oxford University, I got to see first-hand how the colleges operate and how different they are from secondary school. I learnt what kind of knowledge and independence further education will bring me, and the experience has encouraged me to do better academically so that I can get into a college/university as prestigious as Oxford." Adam, Year 10
"It was really good, honestly. I learnt a lot about universities and how they work as well as being able to see how the students themselves would work and move around in the university. And we got to see the museum as well, which had lots of interesting artifacts." Kiyan, Year 10
"I really liked the trip to Oxford, especially the museum, where there were live exhibits such as the Madagascar Hissing Cockroach. I even got to hold one!" Samuel, Year 10
