Year 9 Harris Experience Students Visit Christie’s Auction House: ‘Human Creativity’!
Nine students from our Harris Experience programme visited Christie’s Auction House recently, where they saw behind the scenes and also took part in artistic workshop activities.
As a group, our students had previously created a virtual art exhibition entitled ‘Human Creativity’. Students had selected ten works of art and positioned them in a 3D gallery. On the day, our team presented their overall vision for the gallery and also gave a speech explaining their choices of art and what they wanted visitors to experience during their visit.

A massive well done to Joshua and Muhammed, who gave the speech in front of a large audience. Also well done to the other boys who represented our school well: Leon, Bilal, Mosa, Mohamed, Oliver, Kennedy and Kyreece. Also a big thank you to Mr Maserejje, who escorted the boys to the auction house.
The co-ordinator of the event, Ms Anstey from the Harris Federation, emailed our school with these words: “Your boys were superb: very engaged in the questions asked, very interested in the example artwork, very professional at presenting and they also did a great chair sculpture – the only sculpture that involved a boy sitting on it! I couldn’t have been happier with their behaviour and attitudes.”
Well done to the Year 9 Harris Experience boys!
