Performing Arts Careers Trip to Guildhall for Future Event Planners

Our GCSE music students went to Guildhall School of Music and Drama recently to participate in a workshop on Planning a Creative Event. Students were given a brief and decided in teams what type of musical event to plan for.

Students were given different planning roles and the session concluded with a five-minute presentation to a panel of professionals from Guildhall. In the presentation, the boys had to share their target audience, budget plan, type of event, what venue and look for, and who to employ.

As well as this, students were able to look round Guildhall School of Music and Drama and see some of these roles in action, and also see some of the venues they were planning an event in.

Michael, 14, said: “I want to come to this school when I’m older….how nice would it be to come to a school like this where everyone has a similar interest and goal.”
